For server cabinets and outdoor use we commonly specify flame-retardant and self-laminating constructions. Tell us the environment and we confirm the build against the factory specification.

Self-laminating wraps encapsulate the printed text under a clear film, so the text stays readable when the cable is handled, bent or exposed to moisture. Flag labels (F-type) are cheaper per piece and suit short cable ends where the print is not abraded. For patch leads that get moved regularly, self-laminating is the safer choice.

It depends on the construction. Flag labels wrap around the cable so the usable range shifts with diameter; self-laminating wraps are sized by the flat face width before wrapping. Send us your minimum and maximum cable diameter and we confirm which size band holds your range without the flag overhang or the wrap gapping.

We match the barcode print process to the service condition. For labels that are wrapped, overprinted or exposed to abrasion, we recommend a construction and print contrast that keeps a scanner reading through the full in-service life. Provide the barcode symbology and the scanning environment and we confirm the specification.
